Built in the
shape of the pyi-gyi-mun royal barge the restaurant looks spectacular
reflected in Royal Lake. The double bow represents the mythological
Indian Karaweik bird from which the restaurant takes it's name.
Built
in the early 1970's the interior has seen better days and is now sadly
quite shabby.
The food was
mediocre. The highlight of the evening was the cultural dance
performance and an amazing female juggler acrobat.
This was our
last night in Burma. Following dinner and the show we walked around
the lake filling our memories with the spectacular site of Shwedagon reflected in the lake. I will count the days until I can return.
