Karen Village

Bubbles, a sure fire ice breaker with children everywhere.

Our Karen hosts were very shy but quickly overcame it when first the children and then the adults became intent on catching the bubbles before they burst.

We must have seemed a strange lot.  As this was Christmas Eve we decorated a small artificial Xmas tree and distributed candy canes which I had carried in in my day pack .    Someone else had a bottle of Scotch for the special occasion.  Following the hangover next day most decided to stick to the local Mekong whisky in future.
