Along the swamp walk, what we in North America would call the wetland boardwalk are many birds, ducks and swans including this magnificent heron and pelican.

TextAt the entrance to the gardens is a recently installed swimming pool, they were laying the patio in 2002.  At that time there were many local swimmers but this time it was quite empty.   

The cost to foreigners is now 1000 kyat, I hope they haven't raised the local price beyond the means of the towns people to pay.

The gazebo faces a newly erected tower.  

We walked to the very new Nan Myint Tower along a wide new road, the best we had seen in the whole of Myanmar.  Around the base is a huge carpark.  The place was deserted.  It came as no surprise that there was a 1000kyat fee to take the elevator to the top.
