Yufeng Lamasery

The last Camellia of 2000 on the 500 year old Tree of 10,000 Blossoms.  During the Cultural Revolution a monk risked his life to keep the tree watered.

Nobody was more surprised than me when he nodded his permission for me to take his photograph.  No he is not the monk who watered the Camellia Tree!

196 Lijiang.jpg (39096 bytes) Yet another theme park under construction. This time on the road to Yufeng.  This lady is creating a paved terrace from acres of concrete.   The 'slabs' are marked out in pencil she then chips away with a hammer and chisel to create the illusion.  It's quite effective.  I took a second look at paving after this and often it was in fact concrete.
