Eventually four camels arrived and they were assigned to a family with two young children who headed out while we continued to wait.   In the end the small group who remained were driven out into the dessert to meet up with our Cameleers. 

To add insult to injury Fanny and I were then taken along the edge of the dunes whilst the others went out into the desert.  By the time we arrived on the dunes it was too late for photography and I was very very disappointed.
