2005 and back in Hsipaw.  This time we decided to go on a boat trip and walk with Mr. JoJo from  Mr. Charles Guest House.  Motoring upstream I was quite taken with the sound of thousands of birds chattering away in the trees.  Tony told me it was the sound of our engine reverberating off the river bank and I remembered why we haven't travelled much together.   

We made our way through fields of yellow and blue flowers  and saw pineapple, peaches  papaya, chilies and oranges growing.

We dropped off the ingredients for lunch at a small village on the way through.

Our destination was Lawy Yone or  "Deep In Jungle", Monastery.  

While we were served tea and delicious pineapple the young monks had plain rice for their last meal of the day.
