Maniitsoq (Sukkertoppen)65 25N 52 54W

We passed by Maniitsoq on our way inside the island of Hamborgerland. Once again you can see the ubiquitous apartment buildings but these seem to be a more modern design than those in Nuuk.

This would have been a good harbour but we had no need of shelter or supplies.

The passage inside Hamborgerland is spectacular.

There are several small glaciers which come right down to the sea.

We saw several tour boats in Hamborgersund which seem to be based in Maniitsoq.

This is one of the best places we saw where the mountains and glaciers came close to the sea in mid July.
