Another deserted fishing village but this one is partially occupied during the summer. The wharf is still in excellent condition.

One of the summer residents told me he had been born here 50 years ago and had never seen a sail boat in the harbour.
Abandoned for over twenty years many of the buildings are still in reasonable condition.

The stages built over the water are for cleaning the catch.

georges 3.jpg (39635 bytes) One custom I found particularly poignant was the burying of residents in the town where they grew up but left long ago.

This site looks out across the Atlantic Ocean.
Williams Harbour a few miles south.

These are huskies kept in a compound for the summer. Some people used to abandon their dogs on small islands for the summer but this lead to incidents of people being attacked.
