This remarkable project has renovated almost the whole town of Battle Harbour. The friendly staff will take you on a tour of the buildings which contain hundreds of artefacts all very well displayed. A visit to Battle Harbour is the best way to learn about the history of Labrador and the fishery.

Looking across the renovated church to St Lewis Sound. This is the north, easier entrance to Battle Harbour The pool in the rocks is the original reservoir for the town.

Battle Harbour can now be reached more easily via short ferry ride from Mary's Harbour because the coastal road has been extended to connect with the car ferry from St Barbe Newfoundland

Looking from near the south entrance.

The south entrance is narrow with enough depth as long as you stay in the middle. It is NOT recommended in poor visibility or if a sea is running. Many boats enter by the north and leave by the south once they have scouted the passage.

The wharves have been renovated and extended. There is plenty of space for visiting boats. There are showers, laundry, and a store with some basic items.

There are life size figures all over the wharf area. They are photographs mounted on aluminium plate and give an  eerie impression that the original inhabitants are still there.

Battle Harbour is in fact uninhabited except for the summer employees.
