The Klongs

Touring the klongs in the early morning by long tail boat, laughing children bathe in the brown water below their wooden houses.  Proof positive that Thailand really is the "land of smiles"

Life revolves around the rivers and klongs.  Here a housewife prepares chicken for dinner, washing it in the klong.  Fortunately food is cooked in woks at great heat.  We ate at  many small roadside stalls and were never sick, though it often paid not to look too closely at the preparations.
