Floating Market

There are several floating markets in and around Bangkok.  This one is at Damnern Saduak about an hours drive from the city.  Although it lasts until around 10am it is best to get there early, ahead of most of the tour busses.

Here are hundreds of boats laden with fruits, vegetables, dried fish and other produce.  They are paddled mostly by women wearing broad brimmed lampshade hats.

A couple of vendors take the opportunity to do some shopping for themselves.

Some of the boats are offering ready to eat foods, noodles, fried bananas, coconut milk and little sweets warped in banana leaves.
