Followed by dinner at the food stalls where you choose your sea food and watch it being prepared.  

Sitting at a table beside the Mekong we enjoyed  excellent fish  fresh from the river stuffed with lemon grass and Barbequed.  We also had shrimp and rice, delicious  

From Vientiane to Luang Prabang via Vang Vieng by bus.  

Bus journeys are always an adventure even if you take the soft option of the tourist bus.  

But these tyres do seem to have some tread on them so perhaps we will make it along the infamous Route 13 safely. 

We took that road six times in all and the armed guard invariably sat beside me, not sure who worried him more, me, or the Hmong rebels.
