Tigers Nest

The latest in monastic headgear cheerfully modeled by a couple of monks we met on the path.

We did it.

Every Bhutanese wants to make this pilgrimage at least once.  I feel very privileged to have been able to join them.

Back where we started, in the woods with the prayer flags, the sounds of running water and the turning of the prayer wheel housed in this pretty chorten.

These photos of our time in and around Paro were taken at the beginning and end of our trip.  In between we travelled with our driver Kinley and guide Bhim.  For Western visitors a tour is obligatory and Kinley and Bhim went everywhere with us.

It is customary to leave the ascent to Tigers Nest until the end.  The next morning we left.

The Divine Madman strikes again!

Time to say farewell to the distinctive architecture and wall art of Bhutan.
