Artisans D'Angkor and the Chantiers-Ecoles train talented young people in stone and wood carving, lacquering gilding and silk weaving. During training they receive a living allowance, tools and clothes. Upon completion the young artisans are offered an internship. When fully qualified they may work here in Siem Reap or in their own village workshops. They are well paid, belong to an artisans association and have a 20% stake in the company. The original project was funded for three years but is now self sufficient. |

would think there are enough of them, but no. Here at the Artisans D'Angkor
workshop young men are kept busy creating more. |
