One of the many limestone caves in Northern Laos which housed the Pathet Lao and villagers during the Indochina war and the bombing campaign of the US so called 'Secret War'. Many villagers moved to large cities or lived in refugee camps. But many others stayed close to their homes, living in caves, only coming out under cover of darkness to work their fields. This cave, a short hike from Nong Khawi is open to the public. The stairway leads to the mouth of the cave, marked with the red and blue striped flag of the Pathet Lao. |
