Orchids at Jim Thompson House.

He founded the world famous Jim Thompson Thai Silk company and was rewarded with the Order of the White Elephant for his services to Thailand.

Little has changed at the house since  he went for a jungle walk in   the Cameron Highlands of Malaysia in 1967 and never returned. His fate remains a mystery.

The 'house' is a complex of six traditional Thai-style  teak houses They were purchased and brought to their present home from various locations.  The complex was completed in 1959.

Trios of dancers waiting to go on stage at the park opposite the Royal Palace.  They would dance beneath a towering portrait of their King.

The last night of our amazing adventure was spent at Pannee Lodge, a tiny boutique hotel on the edge of Kao San Road.   We both like the backpacker vibe on the road but wanted somewhere really nice to stay as we came and went through Bangkok..

The most expensive room we  had on this trip, It was small but nice  and best of all,  off the roof garden.

Next morning Barbara flew home and I went in to Myanmar for an incredible experience volunteering at a school in Yangon.
